Future Facts and Features

• The new Terre Haute Children's Museum is projected to open mid- to late-2008.
• It will a have a total of 35,000 square feet of science fun.
• An estimated first-year attendance of 100,000 persons is expected for the Museum.
• The projected cost for the new Museum is $5 million.
• The new Museum will have more than 10,000 square feet of exhibits.
• The new Museum will feature:
  • Four experiential learning galleries including:
    • Toddlers' gallery
    • One changing gallery
    • Two immersive permanent galleries
    • Three exploration labs
  • Discovery retail store packed with hands-on educational toys, books and games
  • A family center with food service, rest stops and resources
  • An outdoor amphitheater
  • One traveling exhibition space
